Tim has spent the last few years of his life travelling from place to place, following his father’s job. He rarely stays long enough to make any friends, and now he’s come to Wattleford where a patch of wasteland is marked for development. A natural playground for the children, it has, over the centuries, sheltered humans and wildlife amongst its trees and shrubs.
Tim find himself strangely in tune with the peoples of the past, but the town council has plans to develop the wasteland. Modern machines bring destruction and change, and Tim and his father are all that stand in their way.
